DOMAINE durand

DOMAINE DURAND

The Producer

This 23-hectares family estate is managed by the Durand brothers, Eric and Joël. The production revolves around 3 appellations within the Northern Rhône Valley:

  • The Saint Joseph appellation spread over Châteaubourg, Glun and Guilherand-Granges (7.5 ha in red and 1.5 ha in white).
  • The Cornas appellation for 9.5 ha in red.
  • The Saint-Péray appellation for 1.8 ha in white.

Additionally, a small productionunder the IGP Collines Rhodaniennes, particularly with the Viognier and the Syrah grape varieties, complements the range.

The various grape varieties (Syrah, Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier) are planted on the steep granite slopes of the right bank of the Rhône as well as on some limestone foothills (Saint-Joseph white and Saint-Péray). The estate is run under sustainable agriculture, and the search for the best balance of the vine within its envirenment allows for the perfect expression of the different terroirs of the estate. The various manual cultural pratices, along with the pursuit of optimal grape maturity, enable the production of exceptional wines.
